Playing at the Park

It was such a beautiful day today!

* * *

And Roman & I decided to take advantage of it....so we headed to the park. What a great idea!

We swung on the swings, went down the slides & played on the grass.

After being at work for 2 days and feeling guilty for having to put Roman in Daycare, this was exactly what I needed..... A little quality time with the man in my life.:)

Love his guts!!

Cook-Outs

My parents have their camp trailer parked up on Blue Mountain for a couple weeks for the deer hunt so we've gone up a couple times to enjoy the outdoors.

* * *

This was Roman's 1st "camping" experience and let's just say. . . . the woods are not baby proof.:) I have to follow him around everywhere to make sure he doesn't get hurt. It was worth it though because he really enjoyed his 1st cook-out in the camp trailer.

. . .
Exploring the great outdoors,

pushing buttons in the camp trailer,

& chillaxing in the mini chair.

That is just how Roman rolls.

* * *
I love experiencing all the things I did as a child, growing up in Blanding, with Roman. And I love spending time with my family. They support me & love me no matter what I'm going through.......and lets face it-- the last year of my life has tested me in ways I never thought possible. I am still standing though.... and I have my sweet Roman, my faith & testimony and my wonderful family & friends to thank.

Yay for cook-outs on Blue Mountain!

(and yes....my baby is holding a lighter)

Don't Judge!

I have learned to pick my battles........

and since he doesn't know how to light the lighter.....I surrendered before the fight even began.

FouRTeEn mONtHs

Oh my baby is going to be so ticked at me one day for posting these pics!:) Ha!

* * *

But seriously!....Have you ever seen butt dimples that cute???
This baby boy is so dang cute I just want to eat him up!

* * *
I never let him run around naked but it was a warm night and almost bath time so I thought "What the heck!" The least clothes he has on the happier he is.:)

Roman is 14 1/2 months old now and is changing and growing before my very eyes! He has the cutest little personality and yes.....he has some spunk.:) He says "jump" and I say "how high Mr.Roman?".

* * *

Here are some new things about Roman at 14 months old:

- He's walking really well now (even with shoes on) and is all over the place!

- Clapping.....when someone else claps and when you say "good job!".

- Figured out how to open the screen door and his bedroom door.

- Moves the chair from out in front of the drawers in the office I try to keep him out of.

- Loves to look at his books. He'll sit on the floor with one and turn every page just like he's reading it.:)
- When I say cookie he points to the cupboard where his cookies are.

- He throws his arms in the air & "runs" as fast as he can to get away from the garage door when it opens or closes.

- Will stop at the top of the stair on the front porch and reach for my hand to help him down. So cute!

- Likes to play peek-a-boo around the furniture and walls.

- Still LOVES any and all fruit but seems to be getting more picky about other foods.

- Rubs his ears when he's tired or trying to fall asleep. If I'm holding him he'll rub one of mine.:)

- Went for his first ride on a 4-wheeler with papa and wasn't too sure about it.

- Still takes 2 naps a day and sleeps really well at night. Goes to bed around 8 pm and wakes up around 8 am.

- Throws his sippy on the floor when he's done drinking. We're trying to break that habit.

- Says "no" all the time and knows exactly what it means.:)

- He is the best car baby! It's a good thing too.....cause we do lots of traveling.

Roman also knows that he's not allowed to play with my phone. One day he got ahold of it and went straight for a place to "hide".

He sat under this desk....which he's never done, and pushed as many buttons as he could.

B-U-S-T-E-D!!!:)
* * *
I am in awe at how much he changes every day! I LOVE watching him learn & discover new things. And he's getting so big! I both love & hate it!......you all know what I mean.

Summer Swimmin'

Roman & I have been doing a lot of SWIMMIN' this summer.

The Blanding Rec Center opened their new pool this summer and it's so awesome! We try to make it to "baby hour" once a week to enjoy the pool & the summer sun.

I'm hopeing Roman likes the water as much as I did when I was a kid.

* * *
And some days when we feel like staying home I set up the blow-up pool in the back yard.
Roman can crawl in and out by himself so I just pull up the lounge chair and try to get a tan while my baby splashes & giggles. It's a great life!

Roman's cousin Marley came over for a swim one day!
They're only 6 weeks apart and oh so cute together.:)

Fun Times! I'm out.

Did I mention we're not ready for cold weather??

Fun Times in Layton. . .

Roman & I were able to hang out in Layton with my friend Kristin & her son Jaxson for a couple days last week. We wanted to enjoy what is left of summer so we spent as much time outside as we could. We stopped by the Sno shack to cool off a couple times too.:)

* * *
Jensen's Nature Park

We fed the duck's a whole loaf of bread and watched them fight over it. It was so dang hot & humid that day Roman's cheeks were red. This is even after he drank a whole sippy of water.

P.S. Roman is walking now! It's so dang cute. He still loses his balance on occasion but he's doing really well. Now to teach him how to walk with shoes on.:)

* * *

Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill is a water park in Kaysville. Kristin & Jaxson have a season pass so we got a discount. Bonus!
* * *
Jaxson is quite the little swimmer and was showing Roman how to put your head under water. Roman didn't quite catch on.:)

We floated around the lazy river and let the kids play in Pirate Cove for a couple hours. I even took Roman down the little kid slide. What a good mom I am.:).......cause I looked like a dork.

We have had such a great summer!

I refuse to admit that it's coming to an end. I will wear sandals until it snows!

* * *

Thanks Kristin, Jarom & Jaxson for being such great hosts & friends! We love you guys!

While Roman's with His Dad. . . .

I try to keep myself busy, busy, busy. . . . .

which is a hard thing to do when you're used to caring for & chasing around a one year old all day. It's like my purpose for existing is gone and I'm desperately trying fill the void. If I were at home I could clean the house and get tons of stuff done but I'm typically in Northern Utah staying at a friends or in a motel.
* * *

I have some great friends though....let me tell you! They do a good job of keeping me entertained and lifting my spirits. Special thanks to Kristin, Mindy & Chelsea- - My Girls!!

* * *

I think most moms would be jealous of my every-other-weekends of shopping, eating out, laying out by the pool, movie watching. . . .etc. and now that I'm writing it I'm thinking to myself "Ha! You're actually complaining about this?" Eventually this girl (me) is going to have a job and I won't have so much freedom so I need to just shut up and enjoy it!

* * *

Well my last "mommy weekend" was fabulous and I did everything listed above.

Dinner & Shopping at Gateway with the "First Wives Club" (excluding Mindy......she's still happily married......lucky girl)

Tana, Chelsea, Jack, Me, Mindy & half of Adelade :)

* * *

A little swimming at Murray Pool

Don't forget Sponge Bob!

Gotta wear shades. . . .

. . . cause we don't have any makeup on.:)

* * *

Thanks girlies for keeping me occupied while Roman's visiting his dad. Love ya!

One Year Pics!!

I had Noelle take Roman's one year pictures last week and they turned out so cute! Once again she did a great job!! My baby has the bluest eyes ever and I don't know where they came from. He's going to be a ladies man for sure.:)

Here are some of my favorites--

What a little stud! :)
