Phoenix Zoo

While we were in Phoenix with the warm weather we "hit up" the zoo.:)

* * *

Here are the happy, even though you can't tell by looking at their faces, zoo goers.

Roman liked the zoo but didn't get too excited. He wants to get closer and touch all the animals! So the majority of the time I'm trying to keep him happy in his stroller so he doesn't throw a fit.:)

* * *

Playing peek-a-boo under his hat.:)

He's loose!. . . .checking out the pelicans.

Stroller happiness depends on how many sweets and treats he gets.

Here he is enjoying some Good 'N Plenty candies. What 1 year old likes black licorice??

UTAH SOFTBALL

We headed to Phoenix in February and were able to catch one of Generra's first softball games of the season.

* * *
The weather was beautiful!

It's so hard to get a picture of this kid. . . . .or myself for that matter.

Roman's way too busy for pictures!:)

Really, really wanting some of "mom's milk". Roman still calls anything he drinks "milk" so if it's someone else's drink then it's their milk. I don't correct him because it's cute.:)

"Airpane!!"

I might be slightly biast but isn't this kid such a cutie patootie??:)

Utah lost that game but we still enjoyed watching Generra pitch and basking in the warm Arizona weather. Good times.

*Snow Suit*

I had to have a couple pictures of Roman in his snow suit because he looked adorable!

He "helped" me shovel snow one February morning.:)

Mittens, snowboots and all!

Nineteen months!!

Roman's dad and I (yes that's right. . . . together. . . because we're much better parents than we were spouses) :) took him in for his 18 month check-up closer to 19 months, which was back in January. Yea, that's how far behind in blogging I am.

These were the Stats:

*Length- 90%

* Weight- 75%

*"Noggin"- Above 100% . . . .

We're convinced Roman has such a big head because he's a genius.:)

Or do all parents feel that way??
- - Roman's pediatrician diagnosed him with Reactive Airway Disease which is a little different than asthma and is typically something kids grow out of by age 5-7. Roman now takes Singulair daily and hasn't had a dry cough in 2 months. Yay!! He can even go outside, run around and play without coughing. What a blessing!

Other than that the pediatrician said Roman's developing normally and has a pretty good vocabulary for his age.

It's always good to take your baby in for a check-up and feel good when you leave.

* * *

This kid makes me smile every day!

Obsessed isn't even the best word to use to describe how Roman feels about "cycles". Papa keeps him supplied with a variety of colors and styles.

(Pretty sure he's mirroring my face in this pic)

Roman's still a great eater. . . .but apparently needs a little work in the feeding himself department.

Can you say "future stud"?:)

Seriously cute!!

I still kiss those cheeks about a 100 times a day!

I feel very blessed to be this little guys' momma.

I thank my Heavenly Father EVERY DAY for sending this spirit into my life.

LOVE YOU ROMIE!!

Our small little Christmas :)

My parent's and I decided that since Roman was at his dad's house we'd rather sleep in that open presents Christmas morning.:) Since we're adults and all we don't get excited about Christmas...... HA!.....we decided to open our gifts to eachother on Christmas Eve.

* * *

We laugh at this picture because of our excellent spacing and all.:)

Stockings are a favorite in this family. We always get good stuff in our stocking!

These two wonderful people do their best to keep my mind off a lonely holiday without my baby. What can I say...... they're pretty great!:)

LOVE this snow hat!

Too bad I only got to wear it once this year when I had to shovel snow.:/

Go Redsox!!

A gift card for Zappos.com!!

This is like giving my mom a new grandchild.:)

I feel kinda lame even posting this picture but oh well. . . . . .

*Christmas 2011*

EIGHTEEN months!

The problem with trying to catch-up on your blogging/journaling 3 months after the event is that it seems like a century ago. I can't remember specifics about Roman's new developements or milestones at 18 months.:'(

* * *

I do have a couple pictures that show his fun/cute personality though.:)

What is more cute that a baby boy in his diaper & cowboy boots??

You might notice something taped to Roman's chest. That's a vial for allergy treatments. Roman's doctor thought he might have asthma because he has a constant dry cough so we were trying to treat the cause instead of the symptoms. He did really well with not pulling at the vials or even really noticing when they were there. Such a good boy!:)
The one thing I remember, because I wrote it down, was that Roman's vocabulary was increasing. His dad & I were excited about all the new words he was learning and saying.
Roman's new words:
- "bubbos"= bubbles
- "cwy" = cry
- "knuckos" = knuckles (he does the action with this too) Very cute!
- "Sa-ta" = Santa
- "cycle"
- "partzle" = pretzel
- "all done"
- "stuck"
- "me ma" = grandma
- "pig"
- "a nock" = egg nog
- "pass" = paci
- "gethew" = get you
- "Ho, ho, ho"
- "mokey" = monkey
- "baaaa" = (sheep noise)
- "dokey" = donkey
- "ee ah" = (donkey noise)
- "peep" = (his private part):)
- "poop"
- "suewee" = (what I say when he stinks....
so now he says it when I'm changing his stinky diaper) So cute!
- "ears"
- "Mickey!"
- "gun" (not sure how excited I am about this word)
- "ginch" = Grinch
- "kith" = kiss

* Every new word he learns is so exciting and it sounds so cute in his little voice.:)

Fake Christmas :)

Roman spent Christmas day with his dad this year. . . . but that didn't stop me from "playing Santa" and "acting out" Christmas. . . . on the 23rd. What a spoiled kid he's going to be! Yikes!

* * *

"Christmas Eve"

Grandma & papa reading T'was the Night Before Christmas

(Santa's on his way)

Looks like Santa found Roman 2 days before Christmas.:)

"Christmas morning" was fun! My whole family was here to celebrate Roman's Christmas so when I brought him out of his room and he saw all the people (video cameras in hand) he acted all shy.
He was really excited to see all the toys & presents!

I got him the "Tickle Monster" book that comes with tickle monster gloves. It's so cute & fun......and this kid is SUPER ticklish.:)

"Mickey!!"

Remote control car

When I set him on this chair for the first time his feet didn't touch the ground so he kept saying "stuck!, stuck!" Grandma & papa got him a Thomas the Train set and it was a big hit.:)

Wow! That's a lot of stuff for a one year old.:/

And he got nearly as much stuff at his dad's house. Does anyone see a potential problem here??

Thank you to my family for their gifts and for coming over to celebrate with us! It was a special morning for me. . . . .chances are that Roman had no idea what was going on.:)

Merry "fake" Christmas Romie!
